ZAGREB, April 15 (Hina) - The Danube River Commission granted a technical assistance contract for the cleansing of the Danube river in the Novi Sad region to a Danish-Hungarian consortium, "COWI-Utiber", which will supervise all
stages of work. The contract will be implement in close cooperation with Yugoslav companies International CG, Kosovoprojekt, Mostoprojekt and VMS, and the deadlines for the implementation will be set in agreement with the consortium, the Commission said in a statement. The Danube River Commission, an international body in charge of free and undisturbed navigation down the Danube, drafted a project on the cleansing of the Danube worth close to EUR26 million. The European Union agreed to finance 85 percent of the project and the remaining 15 percent will be financed by Danube river countries and other sources.(hina) it
