GDP INCREASES BY 3.7 PERCENT, CROATIA LEAVING RECESSION?

ZAGREB, April 2 (Hina) - According to data of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 3.7 percent, while it was expected to increase by 3.5 percent. Even though this is preliminary data, for some this is a sign that Croatia was slowly leaving the state of recession. In 1999, Croatia marked a 0.4 percent GDP drop. This year is expected to increase by 4 percent. Data of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics also show that the export of goods and services, particularly tourism, had a great impact on the increase of GDP.(hina) it sb
