ZAGREB, April 2 (Hina) - The Croatian Association of Judges (UHS) on Monday welcomed a decision by the country's ruling structures to give up a proposal that the mandates of all court presidents be discontinued upon a Constitutional
Law on the Implementation of the Constitution going into force. In a statement issued today, the UHS expressed satisfaction that the authorities had given up this "drastic move", adding that irresponsible and incompetent judged could be removed by implementing the existing regulations. Emphasising that they are aware that only those who have deserved it with their work can keep their positions as court presidents in this delicate moment, given the situation in the Croatian judiciary, the judges say they are willing to help make a "major inventory of Croatian courts."(hina) rml
