PLITVICE, March 31 (Hina) - Commenting on the latest developments in Belgrade in connection with attempts to arrest former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic, Croatian President Stipe Mesic said on Saturday that "in Serbia, they
want to arrest Milosevic for economic crimes and for electoral tricks, for tactical reasons. They want to use this and then extradite him to the Hague tribunal."

in Belgrade in connection with attempts to arrest former Yugoslav
President Slobodan Milosevic, Croatian President Stipe Mesic said
on Saturday that "in Serbia, they want to arrest Milosevic for
economic crimes and for electoral tricks, for tactical reasons.
They want to use this and then extradite him to the Hague

"In Serbia they first have to discredit Milosevic as he still has
many supporters," Mesic said at Plitvice Lakes.
"I am confident, however, that Milosevic will come to an end one way
or another, because they mustn't send him to The Hague (war crimes)
tribunal. They fear that there he will reveal all the others who
committed crimes with him," the Croatian head of state asserted.
