Saturday, Croatian President Stipe Mesic said everything (the
1990'2 war) was planned and prepared by (former Yugoslav President)
Slobodan Milosevic and the then Yugoslavia.
A round-table conference was held at the Plitvice Lakes national
park Friday focusing on the operation.
Blood was sought in Croatia and after Pakrac, blood was supposed to
be shed in Plitvice, Mesic said.
This was an extraordinary police operation and should be treated as
such, he stressed.
"Plitvice '90", as all other liberation operations, were planned
ahead, Mesic said, stressing that today, ten years after, "big
soldiers and anonymous people are appearing who are teaching us
what happened in Plitvice in 1991, and speaking about how (former
generals of the former Yugoslav Peoples' Army) Imra Agotic, Petar
Stipetic nor Josip Boljkovac should not be attending the marking of
the anniversary".
The round-table was organised by the committee for marking this
anniversary, appointed by President Mesic.
The conference was attended by some two dozen people who directly
participated in the operation and the then defence and interior
ministers, Martin Spegelj and Josip Boljkovac.
