SARAJEVO, March 30 (Hina) - The Bosnia-Herzegovina Parliament's
House of Peoples on Friday confirmed the appointment of Jozo
Krizanovic and Beriz Belkic as new members of the state
Presidency.
The newly-elected members are filling in for the dismissed Ante
Jelavic (Croatian Democratic Union, HDZ) and the resigned Alija
Izetbegovic (Social Democratic Action, SDA).
Krizanovic was elected as a candidate of the Social Democratic
Party (SDP) and Belkic is a member of the Party for Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
The newly-elected members addressed members of the Bosnian
Presidency saying they wished to normalise the work of the state
leadership as soon as possible, and thus create precondition for
the implementation of economic and political reforms as previously
accepted by parties, members of the Alliance for Changes.
"We face a big mopping up in Bosnia-Herzegovina so the country can
become an acceptable neighbour and partner," Krizanovic said.
He called on all representatives who received mandate last November
to represent the interests of the Croat people to return to
institutions of the system and thus help assist to find solutions to
current issues in the country.
The HDZ does not participate in the work of the House of Peoples
because it opposes the means of electing envoys according to rules
of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
