ZAGREB, March 21 (Hina) - The first Belgian delegation to visit Croatia since Croatia gained independence ten years ago intends to research business potentials and establish first contacts with Croatian colleagues, the delegation's
leader said on Wednesday. Thus far, Belgian companies have invested some $20 million in Croatia, the deputy prime minister of the Belgian region of Walloon in charge of economic development, research, technology, and foreign trade, Serge Kubla, said after talks with Croatia's Deputy Economy Minister Kamilo Vrana. Kubla said it was necessary and useful to establish contacts among businessmen, politicians, and on other levels before Belgium took over presidency of the European Union. Thus far, Belgian companies have invested some $20 million in

During its three-day stay, the Belgian delegation, which comprised
politicians and businessmen, held talks with Croatian businessmen
and representatives of the ministries of transport, crafts, small
and medium-sized businesses, public works and reconstruction, and
the European Integration Ministry.
Today, the delegation was also received by President Stipe Mesic.
