ZAGREB, March 21 (Hina) - President Stipe Mesic on Wednesday received an economic delegation of the Belgian region of Walloon for talks on possibilities of improving Belgian-Croatian cooperation in trade, foreign investments, and
tourism. According to a statement from the President's Office, Belgium has invested some $30 million in the Croatian economy via a dozen direct foreign investments. The biggest, of $20 million, was made in the Zagreb Brewery. Today's talks also tackled concluding bilateral agreements which might encourage economic cooperation, including one on the avoidance of double taxation. The talks also addressed European integration processes, especially in view of the fact that in June, Belgium takes over presidency over the European Union.(hina) ha
