SPLIT, March 20 (Hina) - The crew of the American patrol ship "USS Tempest", which is visiting Croatia the past week, held a joint exercise near Split with the Croatian Navy ship Faust Vrancic. The exercise comprised of intercepting
and searching ships with suspicious cargo. During the past year the Croatian Navy has held joint exercises with the Canadian, French, Italian and US navies, in order to achieve NATO standards. Croatian Navy Vice-Admiral Vid Stipetic described the exercise as exceptionally successful, and stressed that with Croatia's joining NATO's Partnership for Peace programme it has intensified military cooperation with NATO members.
