SPLIT, Feb 27 (Hina) - Croatia's gunboat called "Petar Kresimir IV" and a French frigate "Commandant Birot" on Tuesday carried out a joint military exercise in the waters between Croatian islands of Brac, Solta and Hvar. The aim of
the manoeuvres, conducted from a command on the mainland, was the simulation of a rocket attack against en enemy target. Lieutenant Commander Vatroslav Carev said the event was a routine exercise for the Croatian Navy whereas it was something new for Frenchmen regarding the combat in the inter-island area. On the other hand we learnt rules and acts in accordance to NATO standards from French colleagues, the Croatian lieutenant commander added. Croatia's Navy conducted a similar exercise with the U.S. Navy last December.(hina) ms
