2000/2001 season. During the first run of the final giant slalom race, which took place in Are, Sweden on Sunday, Janica Kostelic's victory was confirmed, after the fall of Renate Goetschl of Austria, the runner-up at the overall standings. In the overall standings, the Croatian teen-age skier mustered 1256 points. Kostelic also won this season's slalom cup within the World Cup, with eight consecutive victories and one 11th place, i.e. a total of 824 points. During the season, she gained 204 points in giant slalom races, 124 points in super-G, and four (4) in the downhill race.
