ZAGREB, Feb 22 (Hina) - A census that will be conducted between April 1 and 15 will cost some 142 million kuna (approx. $17 million), according to a bill of amendments on the Census Law the government formulated at Thursday's session.
It was originally planned to spend 190 million kuna for the census, but the costs were ultimately cut down to 142 million, said finance Minister Mato Crkvenac. The entire sum, however, will not come from the budget. In fact, 76 million will be earmarked from current budgetary stocks. The government today also distributed 18 million kuna worth of budgetary funds for the financing of associations and institutions of national minorities. The government consented to the opening of a Croatian Chamber of Commerce representation in Belgrade, and offices in Novi Sad and Podgorica. It was assessed this could lead to higher trade and Croatian export. The government also established
