VIENNA, Feb 21 (Hina) - President Stipe Mesic said in Vienna on Wednesday Croatia should prosecute all cases of war crimes suspects so that the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague would have no reason to assume that task but leave it
to Croatia. Mesic was commenting on the latest guarantees the Hague tribunal gave Croatia to the effect that it will not seek to take over the prosecution of retired general Mirko Norac. Asked if the guarantee meant the international tribunal would issue guarantees for other possible cases in which other Croatian generals might appear as suspects as well, Mesic said: "These are individual cases, but Croatia has to prosecute every case in which someone is a crime suspect."(hina) ha sb
