ZAGREB, Feb 1 (Hina) - An Austrian company "Styria" on Thursday formally took over the Croatian highest-circulation daily "Vecernji List". During the general assembly of share-holders of "Vecernjak", Styria assumed 98 percent of
shares and the rest remained in the hands of small share-holders. Styria Medien AG Management's chairman and Vecernji List supervisory committee's vice-chairman, Horst Pirker, said at today's news conference that Styria was willing to invest 200 million kuna in this daily. He described it as one of the biggest investments in Croatia and added that, in this way, the Austrian company showed great confidence in the Croatian press house and the Croatian state. Pirker expressed satisfaction with the State Prosecutor's ruling that all operations around the sale of "Vecernjak" were clear.
