NATIONALIST PARTIES WILL NOT DECIDE ON BOSNIA'S FATE -- E.U. REP

MOSTAR, Jan 31 (Hina) - Head of a EU European commission delegation in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Hansjorg Kretschmer, said on Wednesday the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia-Herzegovina (HDZ) and the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) must face the fact that nationalist parties are no longer able to decide on the country's fate. Kretschmer spoke in Mostar today with local Croat and Moslem officials, as well as officials of the international community in the town. He warned the EU had no more understanding for HDZ's political games such as the boycotting of state and federal institutions or advocating a third entity. Kretschmer asserted the international community would act decisively against those who are corrupt, are obstructing positive processes and establishing parallel institutions (alluding to announcements of a possible creation of a third entity in Bosnia- Herzegovina). He dismissed claims by the HDZ that Croats in the country were treated unequally. Although the least numerous in Bosnia- Herzegovina, Kretschmer said, Croats are equally represented in all state and federal institutions. According to him, the problem is that the HDZ is equalising itself with the Croat people, and deems Croat officials in other parties as unreliable.
