ZAGREB, Jan 13 (Hina) - A delegation of the Croatian Peasants' Party (HSS), led by president Zlatko Tomcic, left for Berlin, where it will attend the 14th congress of the European People's Party, which is being held on 11-13 January,
the HSS reported on Saturday. The HSS submitted an official request for admission to the European People's Party last August. It is participating in the congress in the status of observer at the invitation of EPP president Wilfried Martens. Talks on association and stabilisation between Croatia and the European Union, which started last November at the Zagreb Summit, have created formal conditions for HSS' admission to the EPP. The EPP statute admits exclusively parties from the countries which have started talks on association with the EU.
