ZAGREB, Jan 30 (Hina) - Croatia's President Stjepan Mesic and Prime Minister Ivica Racan commenced their meeting shortly after half past one p.m. Tuesday in the President's office. The two top officials are expected to discuss the
current situation in the country and the storing of documents produced during the term of office of the late President Franjo Tudjman into the State Archive. On 11 January, the Croatian Government made a decree on the transfer of Tudjman's documentation from the Office of the President of the Republic into the State Archive. Subsequently President Mesic reiterated several times that before the transfer, the documentation should be classified, in accordance to the defined procedure, and after that it should be decided which documents can remain in the Office and which can be archived. The two top officials are expected to discuss the current situation
in the country and the storing of documents produced during the term
of office of the late President Franjo Tudjman into the State
Archive.
On 11 January, the Croatian Government made a decree on the transfer
of Tudjman's documentation from the Office of the President of the
Republic into the State Archive.
Subsequently President Mesic reiterated several times that before
the transfer, the documentation should be classified, in
accordance to the defined procedure, and after that it should be
decided which documents can remain in the Office and which can be
archived.
The Government's decree on the documentation's transfer envisages
that some documents could be used before the expiry of the dead-line
of 30 years (upon the storing in the State Archive), with the
Government's approval and under defined procedure.
