ZAGREB, Jan 19 (Hina) - Anton Tus, whom President Stjepan Mesic has recently appointed as Croatia's Ambassador to NATO, received the approval for his appointment from the Alliance a few days ago. Tus is to present his credentials to
NATO Secretary-General George Robertson at one of the coming meetings of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, read a statement released by Croatian Foreign Ministry on Friday. Since Croatia's admission into NATO's Partnership for Peace programme on 25 May 2000, the Croatian liaison office to NATO has carried out diplomatic communication and coordination between Zagreb and Brussels. As soon as Tus hands over credentials, the Office will become Croatia's mission to NATO. Zagreb is to appoint the chief military representative to NATO soon as well, as Partnership for Peace member-states have such envoys to the Alliance.(hina) ms
