competition as the 27th.

This has been the first downhill race for the current first-ranked
female skier in the overall World Cup standings since Kostelic
sustained serious knee injuries in the downhill race in the Swiss
resort of St. Moritz in December 1999 and had to discontinue her
participation in the Cup..
This season she made a successful come-back with her consecutive
victories of slalom races.
Today's downhill was won by Austria's Renate Goetschl, the downhill

On Saturday afternoon a World Cup super-G is scheduled at the same
venue.
Kostelic with 704 points in the overall standings, will participate
in the race.
The second-ranked in the overall standings is Goetschl with 681
