Switzerland's Sonja Nef, who has been dominating the giant slalom
World Cup standings this season, took her fourth giant slalom win of
the Alpine ski season today.
She clocked 1:18.19 in the first and 1:19.78 in the second leg, or on
the aggregate 2:37.97. The second-placed in this giant slalom race
was Karen Putzer of Italy with 2:38.21 seconds. She was followed by
Renate Goetschl of Austria with 2:38.33. Janica Kostelic's total
time was 2:38.91.
In the overall standings where Kostelic has so far gathered 700
points, Nef rose to the second place with 644 points after today's
victory.
