The government collected US$34 million in taxes from the domestic
software industry in 2000.
According to some projections, if the software crime rate dropped
by ten percent, said revenue in 2004 would stand at US$68 million.
If the piracy rate were to fall by 34 percent, the state would get
US$88 million in taxes. The 63 percent software crime rate recorded
in 2000 cost the state US$57 million.
The domestic software industry's share in 2004' Gross Domestic
Product could be US$108 million, BSA Croatia says.
