Lozina, nor did it remove him from office as requested by the
Justice Minister. #L#
Minister Ingrid Anticevic Marinovic requested disciplinary
procedure against judge Lozina due to suspicion that he caused a
traffic accident and fled the scene, failing to help a seriously
injured person, thus compromising the reputation of the court and
the judicial profession. Lozina has been indicted by the Sibenik
Municipal Court for the accident.
The DSV has stated that there are no elements for initiating
disciplinary procedure against Lozina with regard to his having
caused the accident because, according to the DSV, a traffic
accident can happen to anyone.
The DSV postponed the adoption of a decision on initiating
disciplinary procedure with regard to Lozina's alleged escape and
failure to help an injured person until the announcement of the
court ruling, as it doubts the authenticity of the accusations.
"The decision is fair. I believed in the DSV's impartiality,"
Lozina said after DSV president Stanko Hautz announced the
decision.
