CAKOVEC, Nov 13 (Hina) - A Croatian government working group in charge of drawing up a strategy for the Romany, led by Vice Premier Ante Simonic, visited Romany settlements on Wednesday in the northern Croatian county of Medjimurje
and held talks with representatives of Romany associations and Local officials.

charge of drawing up a strategy for the Romany, led by Vice Premier
Ante Simonic, visited Romany settlements on Wednesday in the
northern Croatian county of Medjimurje and held talks with
representatives of Romany associations and Local officials.#L#
The delegation also included Education Minister Vladimir Strugar
and officials of numerous ministries.
Simonic said at a press conference that the government had an
obligation towards the European Union to, by the end of this year,
draw up the first version of the national Strategy for the Romany.
Opinions and proposals from Medjimurje will be included in the text
and a draft version will be delivered to the towns and
municipalities in Medjimurje County where 30.5 percent of all
Croatian Romany lives. The draft version will also be forwarded to
Romany associations, non-governmental associations and
international institutions.
