Pursuant to a document, called the protocol of talks between the
delegations of the said two ministries, in 2002 the German
government will give Zagreb two million euros as technical
assistance in projects for the economic reform and the building of
the market economy, particularly for the stimulation of small and
medium-sized businesses and for the restructuring of tourism.
Besides, Germany will allocate to Croatia four million euros, under
favourable conditions through special funds of the Stability Pact
for Southeast Europe.
Three million euros of this sum will be granted as a loan with the
30-year-long period of repayment, a 10-year-long grace and the
interest rate of two percent annually.
The remaining one million will be given as a grant for the financing
of the elaboration and implementation of projects in the water
supplies system and the processing of waste waters at the southern
Adriatic coast. Berlin has offered a favourable loan of 12 million
euros for the continuation of the said project.
On Tuesday, the documents were signed by Leo Kreuz, the German
ministry's co-ordinator for south-east Europe and an assistant of
the Croatian European Integration Minister, Davor Cilic.
