launched on Monday in the Split based Brodosplit shipyards because
of technical problems, Brodosplit's management board reported.

The board however, did not wish to comment on just what technical
problems were involved but announced that the ship would be
launched after all on Tuesday afternoon.
This is the first of two identical tankers for the Greek Spyros
Karnesis shipowner and will sail under the Liberian flag. The ships
will be used to transport oil and oil derivatives. It is 299 metres
long, 42 wide and 21 metres high and is run by a 13,530kW motor also
produced in Brodosplit. The ship will be able to reach a speed of 16
knots.
