ZAGREB'S FACULTY OF POLITICAL SCIENCES CELEBRATES 40TH ANNIVERSARY

ZAGREB, Nov 7 (Hina) - Political and scientific pluralism is the only way and chance to direct Croatia towards the future, parliament president Zlatko Tomcic said at Thursday's marking of the 40th anniversary of Zagreb University's Faculty of Political Sciences (FPZ) which was held under his auspices. #L# Tomcic recalled that the FPZ was founded by a decision of the Croatian parliament in 1962 during a time of "politics' dictatorship". Political changes in the 1990s gave unimagined impetus to political life and political sciences in Croatia. FPZ head Zvonko Posavec said the establishment of a democratic society was a long and difficult process in which political sciences could be of great help. FPZ was founded on 23 February 23 1962 following a decision by the Croatian parliament. Lectures began on November 1 that year. (hina) sp/ha sb
