ZAGREB, Oct 14 (Hina) - The Office for the Prevention of Corruption

mediation, i.e. for the employment of people and the installation
of switchboards in a series of state institutions. #L#
The indictment was filed on Oct. 11. USKOK acting manager Zeljko
Zganjer presented it to the media on Monday.
USKOK claims Nevenka Tudjman used her social position and
reputation to help Igor Knezevic get contracts for the installation
of switchboards in a dozen faculties, institutes and public
institutions. With these deals Knezevic allegedly made several
millions and Tudjman some 1.7 million kuna (EUR229,700) in
commission.
According to the indictment, Tudjman's commission on each venture
was 15 percent.
The indictment charges Knezevic with malpractice in the execution
of state authority duties and tax evasion.
Tudjman's attorney Ante Vukorepa said today the indictment against
his client had been composed under obvious duress as it did not rely
on even one valid piece of evidence.
The statement Knezevic made during investigation, as the key piece
of evidence against Tudjman, is entirely unfounded and
contradictory, said Vukorepa.
"This is an obvious call for lynching and pressure on the court and
USKOK," Vukorepa told Hina.
