ZAGREB, Nov 7 (Hina) - The leader of the Croatian Party of Rights
(HSP), Anto Djapic, said on Thursday that General Janko Bobetko was
hurt by false information about the costs of his undergoing medical
treatment at home. #L#
Health Minister Andro Vlahusic recently stated that Bobetko's
treatment at home cost more than 200,000 kuna (more than
EUR26,600)
Making such information public is immoral and the information is
false, Djapic told reporters, commenting on yesterday's visit to
the retired general and indictee of the UN war crimes tribunal at
The Hague.
Djapic said that by using the same logic, Bobetko could also request
information on the costs of every day he spent defending
"Vlahusic's Dubrovnik" for eight months.
Djapic reiterated the HSP's stand that a referendum and early
elections should be called in case Croatia's legal dispute with the
tribunal yielded no result.
The government, not the Opposition, is responsible for events
surrounding "the Bobetko case", Djapic said, dismissing Prime
Minister Ivica Racan's claim that the Opposition was using the case
to radicalise the situation in the country.
He also claimed that the HSP was not responsible for the leaking of
information at a recent meeting between Racan and opposition
parties about "the Bobetko case", after which the media reported
that retired Admiral Davor Domazet and two other Croatian army
officers were indicted by the Hague-based tribunal.
HSP deputy Miroslav Rozic said he would suggest the parliament
revoke its binding conclusions due to the government's disregard
for them.
