ZAGREB FAIR GIVE "JOSIP JURAJ STROSSMAYER" SCIENCE AWARDS ZAGREB, Nov 5 (Hina) - The "Josip Juraj Strossmayer" award, which is given by the Croatian Academy of Arts and Sciences (HAZU) and the Zagreb Fair, were handed to the authors
of this year's most successful scientific works in Croatian and the most successful publications at a ceremony in Zagreb on Tuesday.
ZAGREB, Nov 5 (Hina) - The "Josip Juraj Strossmayer" award, which is
given by the Croatian Academy of Arts and Sciences (HAZU) and the
Zagreb Fair, were handed to the authors of this year's most
successful scientific works in Croatian and the most successful
publications at a ceremony in Zagreb on Tuesday. #L#
This year's awards were won by academician Vladimir Ibler, the
author of the book "Medjunarodno pravo mora i Hrvatska" (unofficial
translation 'International Law of the Sea and Croatia'), published
by "Barbat", academician Nikola Bratusic, Zoran Kravar and Viktor
Zmegac, the authors of "Knjizevni protusvjetovi" (unofficial
translation 'Literary Antiworlds'), published by "Matica
hrvatska".
Academician Drago Grdenic was awarded for his book "Povijest
kemije" (History of Chemistry), published by "Novi Liber" and
"Skolska knjiga". Awards for medical science works went to
academician Jelena Krmpotic Nemanic and Ana Marusic for "Anatomija
covjeka I-II" (Human Anatomy I-II), published by "Medicinska
naklada". Ervin Zentner was awarded for his work "Antene i
radiosustavi" (Antennas and Radio Systems), published by
"Graphis".
The HAZU and Zagreb Fair also presented charters for the most
successful enterprises in publishing.
The award "Josip Juraj Strossmayer" was established in 1989 with
the aim of promoting scientific works in Croatian.
