Admiral Vasilyevich, the ship's commander Igor Aleksandrovich and
Russia's military attach? to Croatia, Brigadier Anatoly Chalishev,
met the commander of the Croatian Navy, Vice-Admiral Vid Stipetic
and his associates, in the Lora naval port.
The Russian officers told reporters that last night they had an
accident in the waters off the southern Italian coast, which
luckily ended without any serious consequences. They said that they
encountered a mysterious ship with no identification marks, which
drew rather close to the Russian ship, with its crew refusing to
identify the vessel. The crew of the Russian ship fired flares and
warned the alien crew to move their ship. As the ship continued
approaching, the Russian ship fired several shots, after which the
mysterious ship, whose crew obviously became scared, moved away,
the officers said, not excluding the possibility of a terrorist
act.
