German Travel Agencies (DRV) wrapped up in Cavtat on Sunday with a

The event began on Oct. 24, pooling 750 tourism experts from
Germany, Croatia, and elsewhere. They discussed problems in
tourism in connection with terrorism and the recession in German
economy.
Martin commended the host for the organisation of the event, saying
the Congress had been very successful.
He estimated 2003 would be difficult for German travel agencies as
much as this year, but that an increase in business could be
expected, particularly on the Croatian market.
This transpires from the increased interest among Germans to spend
their holidays in Croatia which, Martin said, unlike other
Mediterranean destinations had a good ratio of transport
accessibility and quality of offer, prices, and security.
Martin said Croatia's presentation of its offer this winter would
be very important. He added Croatia should retain one or two star
hotels (of a maximum three) as not all German guests were as rich as
was believed.
DRV is one of the world's biggest associations of travel agencies.
This year's congress was held in Cavtat and Dubrovnik, with the
Croatian National Tourist Board acting as one of the organisers.
Croatia Airlines today launched a new flight, Frankfurt-Dubrovnik-
Frankfurt, to fly three times a week.
