At a public forum, organised by the HDZ in the eastern town of
Vinkovci, Sanader refuted speculation that his party was prepared
to form a coalition with the Social Democrats (SDP), describing it
as unfounded speculation.
Sanader said that at the last parliamentary ballot the HDZ lost
about 20 percent of its voters, but three years later, it regained
10 percent and could count on mustering at least 30 percent of all
votes.
