ZAGREB, Oct 23 (Hina) - The Croatian government should adopt an 80-
million-euro project on sustainable refugee return, property
restitution and accommodation at a session on Thursday. #L#
Half the required amount would be provided in the form of a Council
of Europe's Development Bank's loan, while the other half would be
secured from the state budget.
The project is aimed at accelerating the restitution of property of
Croatian citizens of Serb nationality, returnees from Yugoslavia
and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The project should also provide for alternative accommodation for
people temporarily occupying the Serbs' property, who are mostly
Bosnian Croat refugees who are still unable to return to their
homes.
The project is a continuation of a project within which the Council
of Europe's Development Bank granted Croatia a 30-million-euro
loan two years ago. This project is nearing completion.
The government should tomorrow grant guarantees for loans to be
granted by European financial institutions for a flight control
project in Zagreb.
Government co-ordinating bodies should also discuss a draft budget
for 2003.
