ZAGREB, Oct 18 (Hina) - The amount of unsettled debts of legal persons in Croatia at the end of June amounted to 15.5 million kuna (EUR2.1 million), which is 1.2 percent less than in May and 11 percent less than at the end of last
year. In relation to May 2001, the amount dropped by 18 percent.
ZAGREB, Oct 18 (Hina) - The amount of unsettled debts of legal
persons in Croatia at the end of June amounted to 15.5 million kuna
(EUR2.1 million), which is 1.2 percent less than in May and 11
percent less than at the end of last year. In relation to May 2001,
the amount dropped by 18 percent. #L#
Citing the Croatian Financial Agency, the Croatian Chamber of
Commerce's department for macroeconomic analysis said this was the
result of an entire transfer of the payment system from the former
Payment System Bureau to business banks (in April).
At the same time, the number of blocked companies dropped bellow
30,000, which was last marked in mid 1999.
According to mid June data, the number of blocked companies
amounted to 29,051, employing 64,749 persons.
