ZAGREB, Oct 15 (Hina) - Retail sales in Croatia in August dropped by 2.5 percent in relation to July, primarily due to poor sales of cars, the Central Bureau of Statistics said in a statement on Tuesday.

In spite of this fact, Croatia's retail sales increased in 2002. In
the first eight months of this year, retail sales nominally
increased by 13.3 and really by 12.8 percent in relation to the same
period the year before, the Bureau said.
Retails sales in August nominally increased by 14.6 and really by
14.4 percent in relation to the same month the year before, said the
Bureau's data.
