The programme, called "Cogito", was signed by Science and
Technology Minister Gvozden Flego and French Ambassador Francis
Bellanger.
Foreign Minister Tonino Picula, who was present at the signing,
said the memorandum was a document "directed towards the future
which should also contribute to achieving the ultimate goal -
united Europe".
Ambassador Bellanger said "Cogito" should "introduce" Croatia to
European structures through science and higher education, before
the country integrated into them.
The integrated action programme will help the realisation of
bilateral science and research projects which contribute to the
development of high-quality scientific and technological
cooperation between the two countries' institutions. The projects
will be selected in an open procedure every two years
simultaneously in Croatia and France.
Advantage will be given to projects involving young scientists,
candidates for a doctor's degree, and junior researchers.
