The purpose of the event is to present Croatia as a "modern country
in the heart of Europe which, at the cross-roads of Central and
South Europe, has represented one of the most interesting European
cultures for almost a thousand years," the German Foreign Ministry
said in a statement.
Organising culture weeks is part of activities of the German
Foreign Ministry during which many countries have had the
opportunity to present their culture to the German public.
Weeks of Croatian Culture will include numerous plays, concerts,
exhibitions, literary events, and movies. The event will also take
place in Leipzig, Munich and Bonn.
