ZAGREB, Oct 10 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Thursday adopted
a draft initiative, namely a request to the Constitutional Court to

aspects of the indictment by the U.N. war crimes tribunal against
General Janko Bobetko, vice premier and chairman of the council for
cooperation with the Hague-based tribunal Goran Granic told

Granic said the government believed that its request was in line
with parliament's conclusions.
The request, which the government will forward to the
Constitutional Court, refers to constitutional and legal aspects
of the indictment with regard to the character of the Medak Pocket
operation, Granic told reporters after the government's closed
session.
Granic reiterated that there was no deadline by which the
Constitutional Court should voice its opinion.
The government believes the Constitutional Court can voice its
opinion, but it cannot make decisions regarding the Hague
indictment, he said. The Constitutional Court cannot discuss the
gravity of crimes and who was responsible, this is in the
jurisdiction of other courts, Granic said.
The vice premier said that the government in its request to the ICTY
regarding the indictment against Bobetko, instigated the issue of
the character of the Medak Pocket operation, the issue of rights,
responsibility, and obligations of implementing such operations.
