After the visit which was not announced to the media, Vlahusic said
that his visit had not been a secret and its only reason was that he
was the health minister and in constant contact with the general's
personal doctors.
"The general is very vigorous, absolutely aware of his medical
condition and his doctors enjoy full freedom to, with agreement
from him and his family, undertake measures which will benefit his
health," Vlahusic said.
"His condition is very serious and he is a grave cardiac patient
with numerous metabolic disturbances. We are trying to maintain his
health as much as we can," Bobetko's doctor, Mijo Bergovac, said.
Asked if any medical equipment has been placed in Bobetko's home,
the doctor said "we only installed what was necessary".
