"The government appointed me to offer the legal aid to General
(Bobetko) and he accepted it," Mikulicic told Hina after Thursday
evening's session in the government's building held after Zagreb
received an indictment against the retired 83-year-old general
from the UN war crimes tribunal (ICTY).
Bobetko chose Bosiljko Misetic and Zeljko Dumancic to be his
defence lawyers, besides Mikulicic.
Lawyer Mikulicic said that in the government he had not been given
the Bobetko indictment, as a procedure on checking the formal
regularities of the indictment should firstly be conducted and this
could possibly be done tomorrow.
The government has announced an extraordinary closed session for
Friday to discuss the matter.
