The statement made no mention about the charges of which Gen.
Bobetko was accused.
Shortly after 08.00 pm, besides Vice Premier Goran Granic, a
university professor, Ivo Josipovic, an expert in international
criminal law, and a Zagreb lawyer, Goran Mikulcic, who has so far
defended Bosnian Croat indictees, Zlatko Aleksovski and Mario
Cerkez, before the tribunal, entered the government's building.
On Thursday afternoon, the government said that it had chosen a
lawyer, who already defended indictees before the ICTY, for
Bobetko's defence attorney, but it did not reveal his name.
Shortly before 09.00 pm Premier Ivica Racan entered the
government's offices.
Under the procedure, upon receiving an indictment from the ICTY,
the Croatian government should forward it to a county court
responsible for the case according to the permanent residence of an
indictee.
