The UN decision to stop Seselj's arrival caused the protest of some
2,000 Serbs in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica. Back-up was
sent to international peace-keepers to prevent possible incidents
in this mostly Serb-populated area.
Local UN spokeswoman Susan Manuel said civil administrator Michael
Steiner decided against having candidates for Serbia's upcoming
presidential election visit the area for security reasons.
