ZAGREB, Sept 25 (Hina) - The president of the Croatian Democratic

relation to the UN tribunal's indictment against General Janko
Bobetko, that were unacceptable for the HDZ and were on the path to
equalising the guilt for the aggression on Croatia. #L#
This is absolutely unacceptable for the HDZ as is any comparison
between General Bobetko and Slobodan Milosevic, Sanader said.
General Janko Bobetko had an exceptionally important role in
defending Croatia from Milosevic's aggression and so the HDZ
rejects any such comparison, Sanader stressed.
HDZ also resolutely rejects the President's assessment that forces
that oppose the general's extradition are extremist and anti-
European, Sanader emphasised and added that a public opinion poll
indicated that 85 per cent of citizens opposed the extradition.
President Mesic is in the minority together with those who welcome
the general's extradition to the Hague, Sanader believes.
The HDZ leader believes that the President's address could have the
negative impact on the government's and diplomatic efforts to
dispute the Bobetko indictment.
