During the talks with the KPZ director, Hidajet Jabandzic and some
prisoners whose names were not stated in a report by the Commission
for Human Rights in the Bosnia-Herzegovina Parliamentary Assembly,
it was ascertained that the matter referred to voluntary conversion
to Islam by one of the prisoners.
There is no knowledge of any large number of prisoners who did the
same, the Ministry's statement said.
All prisoners whose names appeared in the Commission's report
denied the allegations in the Croatian and Bosnian press about a
large number of conversions from Catholicism to Islam. The prisoner
who converted to Islam emphasised that he did so of his own free
will.
