ZAGREB, Sept 18 (Hina) - Five of 14 witnesses from Yugoslavia summoned to testify in the Lora war crimes trial will appear at the Split County Court next Monday, the Croatian Justice Ministry said on Wednesday.

The ministry received a diplomatic note from Belgrade stating that
the five witnesses will arrive at the hearing scheduled for Sept.
23, and not those which will be held this Thursday and Friday, the
justice minister's assistant for international cooperation,
Zdravko Stojanovic, told Hina.
The witnesses will be accompanied by a minister adviser at the
Yugoslav Embassy in Zagreb, Vladimir Curgus.
While in Croatia, the witnesses' accommodation and security will be
taken care of by competent Croatian bodies.
There is no official information as to the non-arrival of the other
nine witnesses, Stojanovic said.
Eight former military policemen are charged with war crimes -
harassing, torturing and killing Serb civilians at Split's former
military prison Lora in 1992.
