dismissed police officers who have been protesting in front of the
government building for months. #L#
Lucin said this in reply to Dorica Nikolic of the Croatian Social
Liberal Party (HSLS) who asked him to reinstate the officers to
their jobs instead of calling them in for questioning.
Lucin said he could not reinstate somebody against whom nine
disciplinary proceedings had been instigated, of which four were
heavy criminal charges.
Among the policemen-protesters there are those who falsified their
diplomas, Lucin said, adding that such individuals could not work
in the police, which was supposed to uphold the law.
He also mentioned the case of a policeman-protester who had
conditions for retirement and a pension of up to 4,500 kuna, which
he refused, and that twelve police officers had refused to be
employed with the justice police.
