The Argentine billionaire Eduardo Eurnekian is the majority owner
of "Aeropuertas Argentina 2000", a corporation that operates 30
Argentine airports, the Milan airport and some other airports in
transition countries.
Eurnekian said he was interested in managing airports in Croatia,
or in concessions over them, without specifying how much he
intended to invest. Eurnekian pointed out that the police, customs
and other public services in airports would remain in the hands of
the government. He added that he was not interested in owning the
airports but rather to be given concessions to run them,
particularly Dubrovnik Airport.
Zuvanic explained the legal regulations involved, stating that all
concessions for more than 33 years needed to be approved by the
parliament, while those under that time limit could be approved by
the government.
