A commander of intervention police, Damir Komljenovic, relayed
this message to the protesters and told them they could ask for
being allowed to hold a protest rally in the southern side of St
Mark's square (downtown Zagreb).
One of the protesters, Zeljko Spolodor, confirmed the information
to HINA on the phone. He added that they would consider the proposal
and after agreement decide whether to accept or turn it down.
A spokeswoman for the Zagreb police, Stanka Saraja, also confirmed
that the offer was given to the six protesters. She said the
deadline was not set for the answer of the protesters.
She added that no police officer any longer guarded the hospital
room where a leader of protesters, Filip Lacic, was staying. Lacic
was arrested two days ago, but he resisted the apprehension and was
injured in the action and later taken to hospital.
The spokeswoman said Lacic had been questioned by the police in the
hospital room in the presence of his lawyer.
