Thursday said the party's presidency had decided to stop collecting
signatures for a petition against the initialled agreement on the
border with Slovenia, given that Croatian Premier Ivica Racan on
Wednesday notified his Slovene counterpart Janez Drnovsek that the
said agreement was no longer a basis for any new negotiations or
international arbitration. #L#
The DC welcomes such a decision and the letter Racan sent to his
colleague yesterday, as this meets both demands which the DC put
forward, i.e. the abandonment of the initialled agreement and the
insistence on binding international arbitration, Granic said.
