Topics discussed at the meeting did not refer only to relations
between Croatia and Yugoslavia, but also to Bosnia-Herzegovina,
including refugee returns and the establishment of the border on
navigation routes, especially the Danube. President Kostunica also
mentioned the border on the Drina River.
In the context of the further normalisation of bilateral relations,
the two statesmen stressed the importance of the integral
definition of the state border in line with the principles adopted
by the joint commission charged with establishing the border line
and preparing a border agreement, reads a statement released after
the meeting.
In the process of establishing the border line, one should take into
account the interests and needs of residents in border areas, and
both sides must take all necessary measures to prevent border
incidents of any kind, the statement reads.
The presidents expressed satisfaction with the meeting, saying it
contributed to the further improvement of relations.
